I understand your feelings and thoughts. That is why I am writing this letter to you. I want you to hold my words to heart and always remember them when you forget my amazing grace and need a reminder.
Grace, I want you to know, is unmerited mercy (favour) that I, God have given to humanity by sending my son, Jesus to die on a cross, thus securing your eternal salvation from sin.
That is why in 1 Peter 2:24 it was written, “Jesus personally carried your sins in his body on the cross so that you can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.”
For this reason, I had already mentioned in Isaiah 1:18 before I sent my son, “Come now, let us settle this. Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.”
But I guess, you didn’t get the message right so I had to send my son. I extended my grace through my words and my actions. There is no more “having to do” to please me; it is the finished work of my son on the cross.
Child, I know how difficult it is for you to accept this kind of grace I have given you by redemption because you live in a world with actions and consequences. And the world is very quick to remember you of Proverbs 11:21 which says, “Evil people will surely be punished”, they forget to finish the sentence that says “but the children of the godly will go free”. By redemption, my grace covers you. It says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
What you don’t understand is that regardless of what you do, my grace abounds. That was why Paul said “God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.
aul further asked a question you will often ask, “Should we keep on sinning so that God can show more and more of his wonderful grace?”
He gave an answer, “Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?”
Your ability to stay dead to sin is you living in my son, Jesus.
This letter is to remind you to get back up whenever you fall. I know you have blind spots, habits you had gotten from your past life and they have been difficult to drop despite the fact that you have given your life to me.
I also want you to know that there are testimonies in those troubles.
In the crushing and in the pressing, I am making a new wine out of you.
Surrender to me always. Yearn to me and my careful hands. Trust me even when you don’t understand.
Remind to come back to me whenever you fall. Remind to rely on me for strength not to fall into temptation. But my grace will never leave you. You have power over whatever obstacle in front of you. I have given you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. I have made sure of that.
